About WINTER WONDERS

Plaisirs d'hiver événement

It’s a kind of magic.

What better example of the magic of Christmas and New Year than Winter Wonders?

This major event provides a whole host of cultural attractions, artistic discoveries, activities and entertainment for young and old. Most importantly of all, it includes Europe’s fifth best Christmas market (source: Best Christmas Market in Europe, www.europeanbestdestinations.com/christmas-markets).

It was sadly cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic. The twentieth Winter Wonders couldn’t go ahead as planned, but a number of events brought cheer to the city.

The Christmas tree, decorated around the theme of renewal with 1 km of fairy lights and 250 baubles, stood proud on Grand-Place for over two months, alongside the traditional life-size Nativity scene.

Numerous businesses, particularly artisans, were showcased on event site site and via short videos posted on social media.

Our teams also helped decorate several window displays in the city centre, small signs of encouragement to support local companies.

Brussels by Lights also illuminated 142 streets and shopping areas, including 11 new additions.
