An innovative and inclusive new year.
Since 2014, the City of Brussels has been proud to offer locals and visitors a New Year’s party that everyone can enjoy: magical entertainment and dazzling fireworks have been provided every year on Place de Brouckère and, since 2017, at the foot of the Atomium.
This year more than ever, the City of Brussels was determined to maintain the tradition, albeit within current health and safety guidelines. And so BME, in collaboration with Alice Events and More to Show, invented a clever alternative.
From 23:15 to 00:10, a rainbow of laser lights crisscrossed the sky to connect symbolically everyone in Brussels. The unique event, which was shown live at www.nouvelan.brussels, was also shared on many Facebook pages.
In that way, tens of thousands of people were virtually connected to their family and friends for a powerful and positive start to 2021.
