Once again, the City of Brussels has taken care of its elderly… and in style! On Monday 15 August 2022, Brussels inhabitants (and especially the senior ones) were invited to the Summer Ball for a festive afternoon in the green setting of the Vaux-Hall.

Many activities were organised in this magical outdoor space with covered areas, such as a dance event, a tribute to Johnny Hallyday with his look-alike Jo Davidson and his live band, and DJ David Sound, who got the visitors dancing in a relaxed and enthusiastic atmosphere. Nibbles and drinks topped off the event, which was of course also accessible to people with reduced mobility.

In order to organise local events, Summer Pop goes out to meet the inhabitants of the City of Brussels. 

Following in the footsteps of a village festival, its small colourful caravans are set up over three successive weekends, first in Neder-Over-Heembeek, then in Laeken, and finally in Haren.

In collaboration with many local actors, a qualitative and playful programme for all ages is proposed, favouring exchanges and discoveries: initiations to different sports and dances, cultural animations, activities for children, creative and participative workshops, face painting, music, shows, nibbles and deckchairs… 

We invite you to Summer Pop to share a moment of relaxation in your neighbourhood, with family or friends.

From 14 July to 14 August 2022, IN THE STREETS was of course based in the hypercentre of Brussels, giving it a very urban character without however changing its fundamental nature. 

During this new City of Brussels event, everything took place out in the street to enable the urban and heterogeneous public (and families alike) to experience a pleasant, welcoming and inclusive city. A host of free (sporting, cultural and artistic) and convivial events enabled unusual discoveries to be made in the city centre, which was rendered more attractive and dynamic than ever for the occasion.

Brussels residents and tourists were able to discover:
• PLAY UP and PLAY DOWN, two urban villages offering city sports and other summer activities;
• WALK, an art trail which linked the two villages;
• VIBE, five semi-acoustic musical stages at the foot of iconic city centre staircases.

L’événement offre des rendez-vous gratuits (sportifs, culturels et artistiques), conviviaux et instagrammables. Ils soulignent l’identité de divers quartiers parmi les plus attractifs de la capitale et permettent des découvertes insolites.

Les Bruxellois et les touristes qui circulent dans les ruelles du centre-ville ne peuvent pas faire 200 mètres sans être surpris.
